The State Attorney’s Office issues press releases or statements in selected matters to better inform the community about what the office does and the results of those efforts. Press releases commonly occur in connection with a significant event regarding a crime or case including when a defendant is formally charged, when a case is resolved through a guilty plea or jury verdict and when a defendant is sentenced by the court. The Office follows applicable ethical and self-imposed restrictions regarding the amount and type of information that can be distributed.
